SSR

I have read several different books this year and have broken away from my usual books such as Twilight and have gotten into biographies—something I never thought I would be into. I read The Glass Castle which was about a woman’s life growing up with parents who did not really parent, never had a steady income—if any at all, and basically had a very unconventional childhood. It was recommended by Mrs. Ellis in the library and I found the author’s story interesting. I would recommend it to people who are interested in biographies.
I also read Steve and Me and was completely engrossed within Steve and Terri’s story. I could not stop reading it and even after I was supposed to be sleeping, I was reading under my covers with a flashlight so my mom did not know I was still awake and to keep her from taking the precious book from me. The way Terri Irwin wrote could make you feel her feelings; it was extremely captivating. They met completely by chance; they both loved predatory animals; they felt safe in a river full of giant crocodiles as long as they were together. They, I believe, could be called a perfect couple; they were so in love. I think anyone who is into a real life love story would love this book and anyone who ever loved watching the Crocodile Hunter.
I was also completely sucked into The Hunger Games series. I would not put them down; I woke up and I read; I ate and I read; it was almost to the point of obsession. There was intense suspense in every chapter and twists and turns that made my heartbeat so fast it could have popped out of my chest. I was so obsessed with the series that as soon as I finished The Hunger Games, I went to the library to see if they had the sequel and much to my dismay, they did not have it. I was completely devastated. But I put it on reserve and checked online just about every day to see if it had come in and as soon as it had, I went to the library. I just had to know what was going to happen. I would recommend this book to EVERYONE. It has a little bit of everything that is good in a book; at least I think so.

  1. KIM! I was reading your book review and last year I read the book Steve and Me too! The book was just wonderful wasn't it? I loved how Terri wrote so many cute things about her late husband, Steve. I just thought I would say something because I loved this book so much :)
