I believe that concepts are the root of emotions. Needless to say, emotions are conceptual. I can not see it but it can be shown in a physical manner; through facial expressions or involuntary gestures. Emotions are expressible but I can’t see its crystal clear structure. It’s like water; I can see its physical state yet its molecular structure is invisible through our naked eyes.
I believe that anger, jealousy, depression, curiosity, hope, love, and many more are conceptual. Anger. It is a form of animosity due to the frustrations, threats, violation, or loss. It has physiological effects. It can increase one’s heart rate, blood pressure, and adrenaline levels. The adrenaline rush sends the fight-or-flight message to the brain. One can involuntarily show rage.
Jealousy. It refers to negative thoughts; such as insecurity or fear. It’s the insecurities that one can’t have but has more desires to have it. It’s the fear of losing something or someone important. It is also the feeling of inferiority, such as not able to be on the top. For example, in one of my classes, I know I can be on the very top and I have that jealousy towards that person who has the highest grade but I don’t let it control my body to show the inferiority in me. Jealousy can be expressed through facial expressions; giving the “dirty looks” to the person envied as if it can kill the person.
Depression. It is a form of sadness; gloom; dejection. It is a sunken mental state. It results in some physiological uncertainties. Due to the low self-esteem, it may cause one to have malnutrition, hormone imbalance, and be stressed all the time. Depression is like a social suicide. It is like cutting one’s life off the world. While one is in the depression state, one can’t appreciate how life is wonderful and lively.
Curiosity. It causes investigation, exploration, observation, and learning. It is the drive to know certain things. Curiosity can have a good effect on people. It stimulates the brain to be active due to the information gathered. But it can also have a bad effect on people like one can cause to stalk someone to observe the subject. It can be really creepy for someone to become like that due to simple curiosity.
Love. It shows affection and attachment. It can be expressed in different forms like sharing and caring. But sharing falls in the thoughtfulness category and caring is a form of nurturing. Love can be a romantic love, erotic love, or familial love. It is expressed in different forms that sometime I can’s seem to find if it is genuine or not.
I believe that with this entire maelstrom of emotions controlling our brain is what causes our actions and that is how we are judged by people around us. I also believe that our involuntary actions caused by emotions can be stopped by taking in charge of our thinking. By not letting the emotions to be stronger than the power capabilities of our brain.

SCIENCE FTW!!! This is a really nice essay though. Highly imbued with deep intellectual thought of emotions. Just like a cake baked by a master chef with a splash of science as the spice. I really enjoyed this.
