I believe in the power of music. Music connects all of humanity either for the better or the worse. At one point or another we all take music for granted always worried about the latest and greatest and abusing our iPods and mp3 players. Instead of taking the time to appreciate such sweet melody’s coming through our ears and even rocking out to tunes making our bodies dance like no one is watching. Without music life would be dull, and a lot less animated. Music is like that fresh box of colored pencils that adds all sorts of vibrant colors to life. There is nothing else in this world that can take absolutely everyone and give them a chance to create such a beautiful thing. If someone isn’t good at singing then they might be good at a instrument, possibly dancing, or even just that beloved fan who knows all the lyrics by heart and isn’t afraid to share them with the world. The opportunities are endless; music gave four British men with silly bowl cuts the chance to change music forever with their simple yet powerful lyrics. These four men became known as the Beatles, and through their music their revolutionary ideas and thoughts were heard all around the world, however, they had it all figured out with
“I Just Want to Hold Your Hand” that’s how simplistic life can be if given that chance. Unfortunately this beautiful concept we embrace on a daily basis does have its ugly sides. Music is sometimes abused, and sends out negative messages for all to hear. For example the hip-hop culture used to be about creativity, and feed off each others positive vibes. As of late hip-hop and rap has mostly been about money, cars, sex, and degrading women. If a song has a beat everyone can nod there heads to then that song will most likely be a hit. Some of today’s music not only sends bad messages, but it sometimes does not even have a point. Some unfortunate “crazies” of today’s generation would be: The Jerk, The Bird walk, and how could we forget crank that by the infamous Souljaboy tellem. Music has inspired me to do what I want in life and chase my goals and dreams. Of all the artists to ever make it, from countless platinum albums to the one hit wonders why can’t I? When I put on my ten dollar headphones and listen to my songs I feel connected with what the artist is saying and I feel like nothing can stop me from doing what I want to do in life. Whether it’s a simple concept like just dancing like Lady Gaga says or looking in the mirror and seeing who I am as the late and great king of pop Michael Jackson said. I believe music is the window to one’s soul.

ReplyDelete"When I put on my ten dollar headphones and listen to my ILLEGALLY DOWNLOADED songs..." You forgot to add the two most important words in the sentence. Just kidding. ;]
