This I believe- Procrastination
I believe in the essence and power of procrastination. It's what drives us to excel under constant pressure. It's what takes the best of us at times and drives the best out of us. "I'll do it soon" is what you keep telling yourself when something is due later on. But you know what happens, life happens; You go to a party, you study for something else, you hang out with a particular someone, and especially you get side-tracked online like most of us do where it starts like a click of a button and leads astray from your original intentions. Then bam! The sudden realization that utters fear when the assignment due date is closer than you expected. Most people work on their assignment the night before it's due as in my case, I do it the morning of. Now, apparently procrastination is a bad habit and hard to change and adjust around, but who's to blame because breaking any habit is a fierce obstacle to overcome. For some people, it brings out the worst in them. They cram and cram so much work and end up not doing well. Other times they cram all this information into their head before a test and when the test comes, their mind fails them completely. That's again referring to a relatively small portion of those who procrastinate. On the other hand it could generally enhance a person's work habit. For the majority of the population of procrastinators, this is the case. If someone gradually gets assimilated into this frequent lifestyle, then they will be use to the pressure and strain of working late. As a long time procrastinator I warn those who haven't procrastinated to stay on the same track to succeed. It sucks to do work late because you're stressed out all the time, under tremendous pressure (like me right now), and usually tired all the time from working extra hard. But if you do want to try and I oblige you to with a strong caution. I hope this could ultimately prepare the procrastinators of tomorrow to work better than ever. I believe in the power of procrastination.

ReplyDeleteWell. You are in for many stressful nights and days. If you think procrastinating in high school is bad news, you are in for an eye opener as you step into your adult lives. Some things will tolerate procrastination, but others...no.
