I Believe in my Faith
I believe in my savior Jesus Christ and the Lord. I have come to the realization that there is a much higher power in the world. The things that happen in life could not happen like they do if it was not for Jesus Christ and God. Everything from the most minor events to the most intense can be credited to God. I used to attend church just going through the motions and because I had to. Only because I knew if I tried to lie in my bed an extra minute to be left behind that my Dad would quietly skimmer into my room and yell my name shattering sweet silence. Or send in my little brother who could happily wreak havoc until I was forced to get up. So I would quickly get dressed and attend the sermon. But as time went on I went from attending the sermons to actually listening and being attentive. Through doing this I have learned a tremendous amount of knowledge. It actually surprised me that the Bible of all books was the easiest to connect in nearly any situation. This book contains vivid lectures on all types of subjects; everything from deception in people, to lies and deceit, to the need to believe in others. It’s the most interesting book in my eyes, whether you believe the content or not, putting yourself in these biblical characters shoes will open your eyes to so much.
My Mother has always told me, “God works in mysterious ways.” I’ve come to cope with this and witness it firsthand. For instance God has taken loved ones out of my life on short notice. People such my brother were taken by God when I was a little boy unaware of what it all meant. But he has also given me loved ones through life. Everything God does happens for a reason. I have been challenged quite a bit in my life and every time I got through these challenges I’ve become stronger. I feel God has hit me with these obstacles, knowing I had the potential to get through them, and when I did I became a stronger person. Not to mention God has been with me during each and every one of these troubling situations. The poem Footprints puts this relationship between human and God into vivid words. It describes a man and God walking in the sand and shows two sets of footprints at times and only one pair at others. The footprints represented the man’s path through life. The man noticed that during the hard obstacles he encountered in life there was only one set. When he asked God why he had left him during these hard times God replied, “The times you seen only one set of footprints is when I carried you.” This poem goes hand and hand with my faith, in other words I know the Lord is always with me.
