The Confessional by J. L. Powers is a really good book. It's about a boy named MacKenzie Malone who writes a letter to the El Paso Times stating his opinion about a bombig that happened on Cinco de Mayo. A couple of days later he was murdered. No one knew who did it and there was a war between race; Mexican Americans against Mexicans. Making the school split up into two sides. The story is told by different people from different sides and views about what happened. Some of Malone's friends try to figure out what happened that night and who killed him. Some people know happened that night, but they are too afraid to talk about it.
