evermore and blue moon by alyson noël

These novels written by alyson noël are the beginning of an adventure of secrets and love. It isn't the average love story though. After Ever begins her recovery from a car accident that stole the lives of her family, she discovers she wasn't left unscathed. I am pulled in as she withdrawls from all of her popular friends and finds comfort with the outcasts. Ever can relate to a lot of teenagers because of her insecurities and average start to life. She changes throughout the novel from a girl that hides her face behind a black hood and blasts her ipod to a confident young woman who has accepted her differences and knows where she belongs. Teenagers go through this as they decide which friends to follow and make choices that will effect the rest of their lives. Discovering her closest secrets like her ability to see and talk to her dead sister and her unwanted gift to see into a person's life with simple a touch creates a story that needs to be told. The moment a young man named Damen, the answer to Ever's past, walks through the doors of her high school the novel cranks up a notch.
Noël's way of describing the reluctant yet irresistible connection between these two characters sets a timeless story that is found in countless novels. Her twists constantly catch the reader off guard, wondering what will happen to rip their two lives apart next. From a crazed Ex with a knack for killing to a man with a grudge, Ever is faced with hurtles she has to jump alone.
I am currently in the middle of blue moon and am anxious to find my next opportunity to read again. I recommend this series to anyone that enjoyed the Twilight series or related books. There is a slight change in scene and no fangs but if you like love stories then this is for you. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
Sincerely,
Skye Paterson
