This I Believe

I believe in finding your happy place. When things are not going according to plan and you need an escape there is a place you want to be whether it be your room, the park, or just any place you find dear to you. My place is the universe. A place of wonders and things so mystifying it is very hard to believe that we will ever uncover all of its hidden secrets. A chasm of darkness and light, time and space, stars and galaxies all coexisting in unity and profound beauty. This is the place where I find my myself and Him. The Big Man. God.

The universe. An abyss of chaos and perfection. The brilliant colors of supernovas and galaxies and the almost unobservable silence of black holes all beautifully lay out on God’s canvas. His most prized masterpiece. Here I find head on collisions of space, time, and light all bending me into other dimensions. But I allow myself to be bent out of proportions, I like it. My mind becomes at ease in the unpredictable flow of space. Suddenly there is no me, only an abstract being. In awe and observant, I see things I thought were not possible to see.

The universe. A place where I am able to find bliss and Him. I let myself float across galaxies and worlds and see new lands that have never been set foot on. Places I want to be where I can finally understand the term “away from it all”. Beautiful horizons and panoramas that my imagination has been able to help me concoct. From vast seas to luscious rainforests, these other-worldly planets and stars provide me with God’s helping hand when I need it. Places that are slowly dying here on Earth. Forests being cut limb from limb for our own materialistic needs. Oceans tainted with our filth. At home, I cannot find peace.

The universe. A place untamed and untainted my man’s hand. A place only God can touch. A place where I can touch God. A place that he single handedly created. This I believe is a place called happy.
