Killing girl next to you? Killing your best friend?

Many of us wouldn't think of killing a fellow classmate let alone anybody in general, but what if we were forced to and risk everyone dying at a single moment. Battle Royale by Koushun Takami is full of twist and turns unlike any other. The class of 40 is sent to an island off of Osaka Prefecture in Japan and the rules of the game are simple, kill or be killed. The protagonist Shuya Nanahara is sent to survive all alone against the forces of nature and his fellow classmates. Eventually meeting up with some of his classmates they plan on escaping, or are they planning to kill each other in order to win the game? Oh yeah there's one more crucial rule, if nobody dies within 24 hours then everybody dies. Faced with tough decisions Shuya grinds it out with the bullies and many traitors on the way. I would recommend this book to anybody because you can never put it down, even your English teacher might scold you for reading to much (just kidding). This book is not for the kind hearted though, there is a lot of killing and gore, so if your can take that you'll find this book real interesting.
