This I Believe

I believe that every life has an unprecedented affect on multiple lives. Throughout our lives we make decisions that affect the lives of others. Everyday we notice the actions and expression of the people around us. The feelings they express bring out emotions in us such as; anger, sadness, joy, pain, humility, discretion, hatred, jealousy, and inspiration. Throughout our lives we envelope ourselves into our own social web. We make ourselves believe we're in our own worlds; we're not. The web we envelope ourselves is a giant social network of people, each with their own schedule and family. We all affect each other, no matter the degree of interaction between us. It could be the friendly hello, the helping hand that comes when all hope is lost, or the look of disgust and hate.

I believe that even a personal family matter can have a range of effects on the family and the society. The death of one brings sorrow to a family, loneliness to a child, pain to a lover, but it can have another whole range of effects on others. It could finally open the job the single parent had been looking for to feed their children. It could bring work to a grave digger. It could bring happiness to a clothing store who finally got the money it needed. All of these effects can play as minor changes in a persons's life or in some cases, it change the course of their life. Day after day people live through the results of actions made by others. For example, had the extremists never hijacked the plans on 911 we would have not sent thousands of troops into war. We would've not sent the soldiers into Iraq we would have never injured the families of the soldiers lost in combat. We would've never taken the lives of innocent bystanders.

I believe the world is the definition of entropy itself. Like the pebbles that disrupt still water, the occurrences that happen in our lives create ripples of effects onto the lives of those around us. The larger larger the effect, the bigger the ripple and the farther it reaches. Everyday we consciously adapt to these changes; some result from occurrences that same morning, others result from actions that were built upon over time such as war, pollution and racial tensions. I believe that everything has an effect, whether it be rising the water bill or hurting someone, we should always be considering the outcome of what we do in order to prevent the trouble of solving the problems caused by yesterdays neglects
