Uh oh. Another bad corn story

This was just on the blog in the Boing Boing links...that changes daily, so I thought I'd better save this link: "Monsanto genetically modified corn linked to organ damage in animals."

I've been reading Animal, Vegetable, Miracle by Barbara Kingsolver. It's wonderful, and it inspired me to plant swiss chard and collard greens, which I did. My old wheelbarrow has a flat tire, and I could not replace the wheel or the inner tube like I thought I could, so I just filled it with dirt and made it into avegetable garden. (Still need a wheelbarrow to move my compost pile to the other side of the house, though.) This is urgent, since my scraps are starting to pile up...when that happens, I end up freezing them so they won't stink up the place, and then I have these plastic bags of vegetable scraps, tea bags and coffee grounds...big popsicles from hell. But when you toss it into the compost, which is thermal and steaming hot, it thaws out pretty quickly and starts to do its work.
