This I Beleive

I believe in Africa. I have never seen it with my physical eyes, I have not touched the ground with my hands or smelled its... its... well, whatever Africa smells like anyway. Despite all of this I believe to the bottom of my soul that Africa exists and is a real continent. There is evidence for Africa all around me, There are pictures, newspapers, and television documentaries that all give witness to Africa. I have seen its animal and plant life in zoos. I know people who have gone to Africa personally, I do not believe they would lie. This is an example of faith, knowledge without certain evidence.

I have faith in other things besides Africa, I believe in my church, God, and the savior in the same way. It is also through faith that I believe that mankind is mostly good and that we all have a soul. I may not have any physical evidence that it is so, but in the end physical evidence only counts for a little. I hear people testify of the gospel in my church and I have felt the Holy Ghost confirm their words. I have seen the world around us, the power and beauty of God's creation. I have seen the subtle flickering in a person's eyes that leaves when the spirit leaves the body when it dies. There is enough evidence in this world to convince me even if it is not enough to convince court.

I believe in Faith, I believe in the power it can bring individuals. It is one of mankind's greatest virtues. And even if you don't believe the way I do that's fine. Just as long as you have faith in something then that will bring you hope.
